Concert to benefit East Nashville’s Martha O’Bryan Center - July 12 at The Basement
Nashville independent rock bands Hotpipes, The Nobility, and DJ to be announced host a benefit concert July 12 at The Basement to support East Nashville’s Martha O’Bryan Center. While admission is technically free, a “pay what you want” scale for donations is strongly encouraged at the door and inside the club to help benefit the Center.
The Martha O’Bryan Center empowers children, youth, and adults in poverty to transform their lives through work, education, employment and fellowship. Martha O’Bryan Center services are targeted to the 1,856 residents who live in 720 apartments in the James A. Cayce Homes, Nashville’s oldest and largest public housing development, as well as residents of surrounding East Nashville neighborhoods.
Seven year veterans of Nashville’s thriving rock scene, both Hotpipes and The Nobility are hard working bands with their fair share of media praise:
Hotpipes - Gap marketing campaign, Subinev music blog, WOXY
The Nobility - NPR, Music Row Magazine, All Music Guide blog
The Basement is located at 1604 8th Ave South. Ages 21 and over are welcome and the concert begins at 9:30 PM.
